FingerFlow Keyboard Privacy Policy
1. Core principles
FingerFlow Keyboard, also known as “指尖流速” in Chinese, is an Android input method focused on on-device typing. We do not integrate advertising SDKs. We do not use what you type for advertising or user profiling, and we do not actively upload everyday typing content, chat records, contacts, clipboard content, or user dictionaries to our servers. Google ML Kit collects limited technical metrics as described in Section 10.
2. Data stored on your device
The app stores data needed to provide typing features on your device, including user dictionaries, typing habits, candidate ranking, word associations, quick replies, emoji data, keyboard themes, personalization settings, clipboard history, and optional typing-count statistics. This data is used only to provide and improve the on-device typing experience. Typing-count statistics are off by default and, when enabled, store only daily, weekly, and cumulative counts, not the text you typed.
The Google Play release disables Android cloud backup for app data.
3. Typing and clipboard content
The app writes only the text you select or type into the active input field. Clipboard features display and manage copied content locally. The app attempts to avoid retaining content from sensitive fields such as passwords and verification codes. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes locally stored clipboard data.
4. Voice, handwriting, and translation
The APK test build and the Google Play AAB release both provide Android system speech and iFLYTEK speech. The microphone is accessed only when you actively start voice input. Before iFLYTEK is initialized for the first time, the app presents a separate data-processing notice and asks for your consent. When you use iFLYTEK speech, iFLYTEK Co., Ltd. processes the current audio and recognized text, and its SDK may process Android ID, OAID, or UAID depending on the device for service authorization, operation, and troubleshooting. Related network transfers are encrypted. You may decline or cancel without affecting normal keyboard input, and you may select Android system speech in Settings.
Handwriting, language identification, and translation use Google ML Kit on-device models. The app may connect to download these models. After installation, handwriting recognition, language identification, and translation run on the device. Translation results are written only to the active input field and are not sent automatically.
5. Accounts and Paper Notes
The first Google Play release does not offer personal registration or Paper Notes and does not connect to account or Paper Notes servers. We will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration before enabling those features in a future release.
6. Permissions
- Microphone: records the current voice request only when you start voice input.
- Internet and network state: used for user-initiated on-device model downloads and voice recognition.
- Notifications: used for necessary app-status notices.
- Vibration: used for optional keypress haptic feedback.
- System file picker: used when you choose to import or export dictionaries, configuration, themes, background images, key sounds, or offline language packs.
The app does not request contacts, SMS, call logs, location, camera, or advertising identifier permissions.
7. Feedback email
“User feedback and suggestions” opens your chosen email app and pre-fills the recipient, subject, and app version. You decide whether to send the email and whether to include text, screenshots, device details, or logs. Your email app and email provider handle delivery.
8. Logs
The app keeps necessary runtime and crash logs on the device so that you can choose to export them when reporting a problem. Release logs are limited in level and redact potentially sensitive content. The app does not upload logs automatically.
9. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you clear the relevant data in the app, restore the initial configuration, clear Android app data, or uninstall the app. You can disable local typing-habit learning and use the app’s data-management features to clear or export user data. The app currently provides no online account, so there is no server-side account data to delete.
10. Third-party services
The Google Play release may rely on Android system speech services, iFLYTEK speech services, Google ML Kit, and your chosen email app. System and iFLYTEK speech services process a voice request only when you actively use the corresponding voice input option. iFLYTEK may process audio, recognized text, and the device identifiers described above. Google ML Kit does not send model inputs such as text or handwriting, or model outputs, to Google servers. It does collect device and app information, per-installation identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, feature events, and error codes over HTTPS for diagnostics and usage analytics. Your email app processes feedback you choose to send. These services handle relevant data under their own privacy policies.

11. Policy changes
If a future release adds account servers, cloud sync, online AI, advertising, additional analytics SDKs, or any other feature that changes data handling, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration before releasing that feature and provide prominent notice when required.
